Personalised Keyrings UK: Photo, Wooden and Number Plate Styles Compared

Shopping for personalised keyrings UK-wide? Our range covers double-sided acrylic photo keyrings from £5.99, wooden keyrings with a different design on each side, metal photo keyrings in a gift box and a mini number plate keyring for car keys, all printed to order in our North Yorkshire workshop. Below we compare the materials side by side so you can match the keyring to the person and to how hard their keys get used.

Photo, wooden or number plate: which keyring material suits who?

A keyring gets dropped, rattled and squashed every day, so it's worth thinking about the material before you pick a photo.

• Acrylic is clear, light and bright. Our acrylic keyrings are printed on both sides with a UV print and white ink, which gives strong colour.
• Wood-based MDF is light and has a warmer, more natural look. Ours gives you two sides to design: a photo on the front and a second photo or some words on the back.
• Metal with a gloss white face feels weightier in the hand. The photo is dye-sublimated into the gloss white panel, so it won't peel.

For a heavy bunch of house and car keys, metal is a solid choice. For a school bag or a light set of keys, acrylic, wood or a soft plush keyring all work well.

Personalised photo keyrings

Double-sided acrylic photo keyring, £5.99

Our double-sided acrylic photo keyring in a rectangle, heart or circle shape is the easiest place to start. You upload a photo, add a name, and it's printed on both sides, so it looks good whichever way it turns on the ring. The print is scratch-resistant and made to stand up to everyday use.

Personalisation tip: the heart shape suits a couple photo or a pet portrait, while the rectangle gives more room for a group or family shot. We print the photo exactly as it's uploaded, so pick a clear, well-lit picture.

Metal photo keyring in a gift box, £9.99

For something that feels more like a keepsake, the metal photo keyring with your photo, a name and a short message comes in five shapes: round, oblong, hexagonal, slim rectangle and slim round. It arrives in a gift box, so it's ready to hand over.

Personalisation tip: keep the message short, such as a date or "Drive safe", so the photo stays the star. Double-check names and spelling, because we print exactly what you enter.

Pet photo keyring in a gift box, £9.99

Dog and cat owners will love the pet photo keyring with your dog or cat's photo and name. It uses the same metal and gloss white panel, which brings out fur and eyes nicely, and you can choose oblong, round or hexagonal.

Personalisation tip: a close-up of your pet's face, taken in daylight, works far better than a far-off photo of them on a walk.

Personalised wooden keyrings

Double-sided wooden keyring, £7.99

The double-sided wooden keyring with a photo on the front and a photo or text on the back is the one to choose when you've got two things to say. It comes in round, square and T-shirt shapes and is made from MDF, a light wood-based board that won't weigh down a bunch of keys.

Personalisation tip: put a team or family photo on the front and a nickname, a date or a short in-joke on the back. The T-shirt shape is a fun pick for anyone who plays a sport.

Number plate and novelty keyrings

Number plate keyring with any name, £9.99

Our mini number plate keyring with any name or text puts a name, initials or a nickname on a small UK-style yellow plate. It's a metal keyring in a gift box and a natural choice for new drivers or anyone who's always wanted a private plate. You can choose a GB, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or Ireland band.

Personalisation tip: up to 8 letters and digits looks most like a real plate, and the text is printed in capitals, exactly as you type it. The live preview on the product page shows how it will look.

Bottle opener and nail clipper keyring, £9.99

For the practical person, the 3-in-1 bottle opener and nail clipper keyring with a name or photo does three jobs at once. Your design is printed onto the gloss white panel on top.

Personalisation tip: a short, punchy name or a simple head-and-shoulders photo fills the space best.

Mini teddy bear keyring, £11.99

The cream mini teddy bear keyring wearing a printed T-shirt is a soft way to say thank you, good luck or I love you. The little white T-shirt is removable and printed by dye-sublimation.

Personalisation tip: keep the message to a name or two or three words for the cleanest result.

Mini bunny keyring, £11.99

The plush mini bunny bag charm printed with a name is a sweet pick for children, since it makes school bags and PE kit easy to spot. Colours depend on what we have in stock, and you're welcome to ring us on 01439 771468 if you'd like a particular colour.

Tips for a keyring that looks great for years

• Crop tight. Keyrings are small, so faces should fill most of the frame.
• Choose good light. A bright, sharp photo prints far better than a dark or blurry one.
• Check spelling twice. We print exactly what you enter, so a quick second read saves a lot of disappointment.
• Match the material to the owner. Heavier metal suits a busy set of car keys, while acrylic, wood and plush suit bags and lighter bunches.
